SAN JOSE, Calif. & HILLSBORO, Ore., July 29, 2022—-Always eager to “chip” in, First Tech Federal Credit Unionthe nations eighth largest credit uniontogether with First Tech employees and members, business leaders and credit unions from across the region raised more than $1.6 million dollars as part of the annual fundraising campaign, benefiting children and families served at Childrens Miracle Network Hospitals.

Founded by First Tech 22 years ago, the Credit Union for Kids Northwest Classic tournament has become one of the largest credit union-sponsored events supporting Credit Unions for Kids in the nation and has raised over $12.2 million since inception. This years fundraising campaign championed a hearty return from the pandemic, surpassing its original goal of $1 million, with all proceeds going toward six regional childrens hospitals across California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington.

Low-code platform provider Pegasystems has been picked by First Tech Federal Credit Union for a consolidated customer relationship management solution.

First Tech FCU selects Pega for a unified CRM platform

First Tech FCU has been using Pegas AI-led decisioning and workflow automation solution to manage fraud and disputes, and has now decided to replace and unify its entire CRM set-up onto one platform.

The new platform will consolidate four different back-office systems, eliminating labour-intensive steps. Pega adds it will also reduce agents call handling times by 40% and introduce smart forms for the banks members.

SAN JOSE, Calif. & HILLSBORO, Ore.—-First Tech Federal Credit Union, the nations eighth largest credit union, awarded more than $1 million to support education programs in its local communities, including $979,300 in grants to 68 nonprofit organizations and $60,000 in scholarships to 12 First Tech member students. The funded organizations promote equitable access to STEM, early childhood literacy, and financial education, demonstrating the credit unions commitment to its core people-before-profits philosophy.

As nonprofits continue to navigate the complex impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, consistent support is more important than ever. During this grant cycle, First Tech prioritized efforts that helped their nonprofit partners adapt to virtual and hybrid environments including program development, operational support, and a broad range of service-oriented initiatives.
