St Lawrence Federal Credit Union Opens Latest Branch In Heuvelton
The Heuvelton branch, located at 83 State St., joined four other locations two in Ogdensburg at 800 Commerce Park Drive and 333 State St., one in Canton at 33 Court St. and another in Potsdam at 6585 Route 56, which had been the most recent branch to open in May 2017.
The Heuvelton branch has had a soft opening and on Thursday held an open house to introduce the new location to the public. Chief Executive Officer Todd R. Mashaw said they are leasing the first floor at 83 State St., which is owned by the Heuvelton Historical Association, and right next door to the historic Pickens Hall. The work on the project was completed by Travis Wood with TRW Construction, Heuvelton.
“Everything was done by a local Heuvelton contractor,” said Mr. Mashaw.
At the new branch, there will be three employees a branch manager and two universal service representatives who can handle all of the needs of the credit union’s members, according to Mr. Mashaw. There is also a drive-thru teller and an ATM as well.
Robert E. Pirie, Heuvelton, made a quick transaction prior to the open house taking place and said that it is extremely convenient to have a St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union branch in the village.
“It was very much needed and appreciated,” he said.
“The response from the village has been fantastic. The village and the village board worked with us to make this happen,” said Mr. Mashaw.
Second, Mr. Mashaw said, they saw the potential for more members to join his credit union.

Grand Opening Celebration Friday June 16
OGDENSBURG, NY St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union is celebrating the opening of their new Potsdam branch at 6585 State Highway 56, just north of the village. It is the Credit Unions fourth branch location. A Grand Opening celebration will take place Friday, June 16 beginning at 11am with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony featuring local dignitaries. Refreshments will be served from 11am 1pm. There will also be giveaways, a raffle, and a live radio broadcast by B99.3 Hits.
With an emphasis on digital and business banking, the new 2,700 square foot branch in Potsdam will have options for people to bank traditionally or electronically. The new location will feature three state-of-the-art ATMs that allow members to efficiently withdraw money, and make cash and check deposits.
The Credit Union is excited about the opening of the new Potsdam branch and being able to more conveniently serve more of St. Lawrence County, said Todd Mashaw, St. Lawrence FCU Chief Executive Officer. With the addition of our new branch, Members now have four branches where they can bank with a teller. Those who prefer electronic banking, can do it by phone, computer, or tablet. The new branch will look less traditional but we can still serve everyone, no matter how they prefer to bank, said Mashaw.

Ritchie Celebrates Grand Opening Of New St Lawrence Federal Credit Union Branch In Heuvelton
State Senator Patty Ritchie joined local leaders and St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union officials Thursday to help celebrate the grand opening of the Credit Unions new branch in downtown Heuvelton, next to historic Pickens Hall.
In September of 2020, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union announced plans to establish a location in Heuvelton to help meet the financial needs of area residents. Today, the community gathered to celebrate its grand opening.
There are certain things that are essential to any communityand a financial institution is one of them, said Senator Patty Ritchie. I am thrilled that St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union has opened its doors and now will be a place where local residents can go to take care of their financial needs. I would like to thank the Credit Union for their investment in the Heuvelton community and congratulate them on the grand opening of their newest branch.
