HOA banking services will be temporarily delayed as Union Banks Homeowners Association Services business moves to Pacific Western Bank.

On Friday, , access to the Union Bank customer service phone lines, the HOA Services Platform, HOA Online ACH Digital Banking and homeowner payment links will not be available beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT and will be offline continuing throughout the weekend.The bank anticipates that all systems will be restored and fully operational by Tuesday, October 12th, at 8:00 a.m. ET.

Previously scheduled recurring payments will not be impacted. As a reminder, your User login credentials will not change when accounts transition to Pacific Western Bank, and there will be no change to the phone number, 888.705.0600, used by homeowners. The team that handles these phone inquiries will now be U.S.-based. Homeowners can continue to make their assessment payments through the same methods they use today.

HOAs should also consider the fees or costs that come with the online payment platform they choose. Banks may have fees for setting up accounts and money withdrawals. Once the entire association has accounts, they may be able to offer free fund transfers.

While an online payment provider offers more flexibility and convenience, they will charge a monthly fee for their service. They may also collect a fee per transaction on their platform as well as when transferring funds to your bank account.

You may be able to skip transaction fees with an in-house system. However, there will still be costs for setting up the platform, monitoring the server, and other related tasks.

Your assessment account balance is displayed on Zego. Please note that transactions are not reflected in real time for assessments and payments. Assessment charges will show in your Zego account balance the next business day after they are charged to your Association account. Payments, while posted to your Association account the following business day, may not be reflected in your Zego balance until the second business day.

  • Zego charges a 3.5% processing fee for debit/credit card payments.
  • E-check payments are free .
  • You determine the payment amount, the payment frequency , and the day of the month you want the payment to be made. You can also choose to set up payment reminders and receive email receipts.

Notice: For accounts forwarded to our attorney for collection, the account balance displayed in Zego is subject to verification with the Associations attorney. The online account balance may not include all legal fees and court costs.

    Pacwest Buying Large Hoa Business From Mufg Union Bank

    PacWest Bancorp in Los Angeles has agreed to buy the MUFG Union Bank’s Homeowners Association Services division.

    The $29 billion-asset PacWest said in a press release Thursday that its bank will buy the business, which provides services to community management companies and their homeowners associations. PacWest said it will pay about $250 million in cash for certain assets and liabilities, including a 5.9% premium for deposits.

    The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

    We are very pleased to announce this acquisition, which we believe will significantly enhance our position catering to the specialized banking needs of community management companies and the HOA clients they serve, Matt Wagner, PacWests president and CEO, said in the release.

    This HOA business will provide Pacific Western Bank with what we believe is a robust HOA banking services technology platform and an experienced and accomplished team in an important niche market segment, Wagner said.

    Kimberly Siebler will continue to lead the business after it changes hands. The divisions employees will also transition to PacWest.

    The division has about $4 billion of deposits with an average cost of 0.08%. PacWest said the high-quality, low-cost deposits should provide an attractive funding source in a rising interest rate environment.

    PacWest said the deal should be accretive to its earnings per share, with the timing based on future liquidity deployment, its loan mix and yields.

    LOS ANGELES, Oct. 12, 2021 PacWest Bancorp announced today that its wholly-owned banking subsidiary, Pacific Western Bank , completed the acquisition of MUFG Union Bank, N.A.s Homeowners Association Services Division effective on October 8, 2021. The system conversion was completed over the weekend of October 9th 11th. The HOA Services Division provides a full range of banking services to community management companies and their homeowners associations. This acquisition significantly expands the Banks existing HOA banking practice, which provides lockbox, electronic receivables processing and other financial services to HOA management companies.

    Under the terms of the Purchase and Assumption Agreement, the Bank acquired certain assets and assumed certain liabilities related to Union Banks HOA Services Division for cash consideration of approximately $255 million, which represents the aggregate of a 5.9% deposit premium and the net book value of certain acquired assets and assumed liabilities. At closing, there were approximately $4.1 billion of deposits related to Union Banks HOA Services Division and approximately $6.4 million in related loans. As of June 30, 2021, on a pro forma consolidated basis, the combined company would have had approximately $39 billion in total assets.
