IMPORTANT:To qualify for the scholarship, you must have been a member of WESTconsin Credit Union as of August 31 prior to your senior year of high school. If you are not a member, please contact your local WESTconsin office to see how we can serve you.
WESTconsin has offered the Student Scholarship Program since 1995. To date, over $296,000 in scholarship funds have been awarded to local students from throughout west central Wisconsin to assist them in continuing their education.
Filing For Your Tax Refund
If your account number is incorrect or doesnt match the account type , it may be rejected and then the IRS will issue your tax refund as a check instead of attempting to deposit your funds electronically again. This will cause a delay in the amount of time it takes for you to receive the funds.

I Was Awarded A Scholarship When Will I Receive My Check
WESTconsin requires information about the awardees first semester of college and proof that the student is enrolled in classes for the next semester. Once this information has been received WESTconsin will mail the awardee their scholarship check to their address listed on their AwardSpring account. This usually happens in February of the students first year of college.

Westconsin Credit Union Sponsors Wills Playground In New Richmond

NEW RICHMOND, WIWESTconsin Credit Union is pleased to support an all-new playground in New Richmond with a $25,000 donation to Will’s Playground. This project is working to build a universal playground that allows children of all abilities to play together, thus improving the play experience for everyone. Adults who have disabilities will also benefit from this playground in that they will be able to play alongside their child.
Marie Gremore, Vice President of the New Richmond WESTconsin office, believes Wills Playground will be an amazing addition to the New Richmond community and a great compliment to Mary Park and the local trail system. She continues, this project embodies our commitment to Inspiring Better in our communities.
The estimated cost for the project is $500,000, which includes preparing the area, playground features, and equipment, installation, landscaping, and restrooms. Ideally, funds needed will be raised by the end of 2022. According to the Wills Playground website Wills Playground will untie children, families, and community citizens through play, it continues that the playground equipment will have a usable lifespan that will last for generations to come.

If I Am Awarded A Scholarship Do I Have To Do Anything Further
Yes. Awardees are required to submit additional information such as a current photo of themselves and a signed media release form so the credit union can publish their achievement. Awardees will also need to submit information about their first semester of college in order to receive their scholarship check during spring semester. All communication about follow-up items will happen through AwardSpring and can be submitted through the students AwardSpring account as well.

How Do I Set Up An Account To Complete The Application
You will need to create a username and password for the application program, AwardSpring. This is different than your member account information and is NOT linked/tied to you WESTconsin Credit Union account in anyway. AwardSpring will be where you get notifications about the status of your application and any follow-up information if you are awarded a scholarship.
How Do I Apply For The Westconsin Credit Union Scholarship
Visit our website WESTconsincu.org and click on the Learning Center tab. In the dropdown look under the $MART Financial Education section and towards the bottom is the link to the Scholarship Program page. Once on this page use the link on the right hand side to go to the application program, AwardSpring. You will need to create an account, this is different from your membership account information and is NOT linked/tied to your WESTconsin Credit Union account in any way.
